Everything is freeze-dried or lightweight to keep pack weight down while still delivering filling portions once prepared. Most items only require hot water, making them easy to prepare on the trail with minimal fuel and no clean-up.

Back Country Cuisine meals are made in New Zealand and are widely used by hikers, remote workers, and emergency services thanks to their long shelf life, compact size, and reliable performance in tough conditions.

12 Month Shelf Life

All our freeze dry and MRE meals have at least 12 months of shelf life left, usually way way more, at time of purchase. Anything shorter than that, we'll sell it as a 'clearance' item at a discount. More info.
